Great snack ideas can be the easiest part of your job. Children are always ready for a snack.
Snack time is also more casual than a mealtime and does not even need to be at the table. Sometimes we spread a blanket in the living room, other times we have snack outside.
Never has there been a child who didn’t look forward to snack time. While juice and crackers will suffice, look no further for fun snack-time ideas.
For ways to make snack time more interesting, read on...
Homemade Butter
Pour one tablespoon of whipping cream into an empty baby food jar. Twist the lid on tight and let the kids start shaking. After some vigorous shaking, a small lump of butter will form in the jar. Let them spread their homemade butter on crackers.

Cinnamon Poppers
Start with 8 slices of soft white or whole wheat bread. Cut off the crusts. Using ½ cup of strawberry flavored soft-style cream cheese, spread 1 tablespoon of cream cheese on each slice of bread. Roll up each bread slice with the cream cheese inside. Cut each roll into thirds.
Melt ½ cup butter or margarine. Mix together 6 tablespoons of sugar and 3 teaspoons of ground cinnamon. Dip each roll into the butter and then into the cinnamon sugar mixture. (Don’t dip the cut sides of the rolls).
Place rolls on an ungreased cookie sheet, seam side down. Bake at 350 degrees until light brown and crispy. About 12 minutes. Makes 24.
